Welcome to Mariel Norris' personal website. Please make yourself at home and wander through at your leisure.
Mariel is a writer and elementary multilingual learning teacher. She has written essays about education for Washington Monthly and Current Affairs, and her poetry and fiction have appeared in a variety of literary publications. When not writing or teaching, she spends time sending friends snail mail, going for nature strolls and river runs, trying to meditate, and drawing distorted fish.

Her alma maters include Fitchburg State (Master's of Education, 2019) and Bard College (Bachelor of Arts in Written Arts & Spanish, 2013). She also attended the Southampton Writers Conference in 2014, in Terrance Hayes' workshop.
She lives in Boston with her partner and the occasional mouse. She can't think of anything else to write but will write this one last sentence in order to visually balance the text here with the image on the left.
